  • The purpose of the Bay Area Hip Hop Archives is to preserve the legacies of Bay Area Hip Hop artists, activists and educators so future generations know that we were here.

  • We do not accept unsolicited requests, and all future inductions are handled by THE COUNCIL, a governing body of OG's from the Bay Area community.

  • You do. You retain 100% ownership. We house, preserve and display your artifacts only.

  • We have a 2 million dollar hiscox policy protecting the archives.
    We have a storage facility for all items and we place all items in acid free boxes and folders.

  • We encourage all inductees to get an appraisal of your items for its value before delivery if interested.

  • Yes and no. Some items will be previews online, but the the bulk of your collection will require an appointment to view.
    No items can be scanned or photographed without your permission.
